Most traffic ticket, drunk driving and criminal defense cases in San Francisco County are prosecuted at the San Francisco County Superior Court Hall of Justice located at 850 Bryant Street.
Traffic matters are typically heard in Departments A, B, and C on the second floor by two assigned judges and occasionally a judge pro-tem. Misdemeanor DUI and criminal defense cases are typically adjudicated on the second floor of the Hall of Justice.
Felony matters are usually handled by Superior Court Judges sitting in courtrooms on the first floor for preliminary hearings and felony trials take place upstairs in the Hall of Justice.
Jury trials in San Francisco are also sometimes transferred to the Superior Court Civic Center location at 400 McAllister Street.
